A BRIEF HISTORY
Randy Redwitz is the founder of Redwitz, an Accounting, Tax and Financial Consulting firm. Randy noticed clients were having issues with software and technology during their interaction amid tax seasons and consulting engagements.
IT support companies were filling small gaps and niche support in technology, but not from a holistic standpoint. There was a software company doing one thing and a hardware company doing something else, without integration between the two components. That meant there was a lot of cross-finger-pointing, and therefore the client was left out in the cold to figure their technology out for themselves.
Randy and his technical partners in 1997 decided to create an IT company to help alleviate that challenge, which is how GDR Group formed. The newly formed GDR Group would provide support for applications, infrastructure, and user management, and provide professional services for projects.
GDR’s philosophy became known as the “source solution.” We would partner with our clients to understand their pain points with technology and workflows. Solutions to alleviate the pain points were proposed and implemented with tremendous results.
After seeing the effectiveness of the new IT firm, friends and clients started to refer GDR Group to more businesses. As the supported client base grew, so did GDR Group’s specialized departments supporting our clients. Over the years we added a dedicated Support Desk team, a Network Operations Center (NOC) team, an Engineering Services team, and a Client Services team. Each was focusing on specific areas relating to supporting our clients and their business goals. Working in partnership with our clients, GDR Group has completed thousands of projects with our client base and addressed over a million tickets!
GDR initially catered to public accounting firms and nonprofits, but over the years, it has expanded to help businesses of all different sizes and industries.
